TS Blog: format

  • TradeSpotting Blog: How to use this blog
This blog is a public record of my individual trading journey using my TradeSpotting (TS) system to trade various instruments but, predominantly, to trade Forex.  I trade Forex mostly from 4 hr charts.  I trade Stocks/Options from daily charts.

Please understand that I am not a licensed financial adviser and that this blog is not designed with the intent of offering trade suggestions or advice.  This is just a blog site where I chart my personal journey trading FX and Stocks/Options.
  • I suggest you proceed through the following steps if this is your first time to this site:
1.  Read the 'Welcome' and 'About Me' sections.
2.  Read the page 'TS Outline'.
3.  Read the page 'FX Indices'.
4.  Read the page 'Risk On vs Risk Off'.
5.  Read the page 'TS + Ichimoku'.
6.  Read the 'Stocks' page and the current month of Stocks page.
7.  Return to this page, 'TS Blog Format', and re-read this page.
8.  Scroll through images on the page 'TS Examples'.
9. Log in to this site on a Sunday to read my posts of (a) FX Indices review and (b) Trade Week Analysis.  These gives me my approach to FX and Stock trading for the week ahead.
10.  Log in to this site throughout the trading week to see if any TS trades evolve.
  • The current format of the blog and posting is as follows:
(1)     FOREX:
There are usually 3 main threads started each week: the 'Indices Review', 'Trading Week Analysis' and 'Trading Week' thread.  Occasionally I will post a separate thread on other topics of trading interest.  For example, I will sometimes post threads about Silver or Gold when they are trading at significant or interesting levels.
    • Weekend:  'Indices Review' will be posted.
A review of the EURX and USDX indices will be posted over the weekend and, at latest, before London open of a Monday morning..  An understanding of the levels on these indices will help to provide a 'road map' for trading the major currency pairs throughout the following week.
    • Weekend:  'Trading Week Analysis' will be posted.
A review of some of the major pairs and any particular or significant chart patterns, potential TS signals or trading levels will be discussed.  This will give me a framework to work from at the start of the trading week.
    • Beginning of week: A 'Trading Week' thread will be started.
The 'Trading Week' thread will be started where I update my observations of events and action concerning the pairs on my current watch list.  This thread is usually started on a Monday and updated throughout the trading week.  Alerts about new posts are e-mailed out to followers but at a delayed pace.
    • Throughout the week: The 'Trading Week' thread will be updated.
The 'Trading Week' thread will be updated throughout the day and the week when ever there is anything of worth to write about.  E-mail alerts are not issued when a thread is updated though.  For this reason I consider that it is best to simply log in to the blog site if you wish to check for any thread updates.  I do send Twitter updates though as well.

Reviews of the indices, USDX and EURX are also updated in the 'Trading Week' thread throughout the week.

(2)     STOCKS & OPTIONS

As of April 2012 I have been getting back into monitoring stocks on my 2 watch lists.  I have a separate page tab labelled 'STOCK' that you can read to learn about what I try to do with trading stocks.

I will also be aiming to post a new page for each month where I post charts and comments about the stocks that have my current interest.  This will also be the place where I would describe any trade that I take on these stocks.
